Financial Engineer
POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Engineer partners with clients to understand their financial processes, identify opportunities for improvements, and implement solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical
- Research and analyze data for detailed reports and interpret results to help the team make strategic decisions.
- Train client employees and Kiwi staff on use, functionality, system, workflow, reporting & dashboarding and interface.
- Assist Lead Financial Engineers in system implementations, including but not limited to: Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Business Central, Ramp, Bill.com, Expensify, etc.
- Support in process walkthroughs, documenting accounting procedures and processes to provide a tool for analysis and inclusion in manuals.
- Manage process of mapping a chart of accounts and financial dimensions from old legacy system to new, configuring accounting applications to client requirements.
- Develop a metrics dashboard to monitor strategic measures, metrics & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Assist in the review of timesheet and procurement processes.
- Support in annual cash flow forecasting models.
- Evaluate accounting tasks and assist on recommendations for month-end closing processes.
- Research, test, and perform proof of concepts on the recommended applications utilizing AT tools: Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.
- Assist in the development of a workforce needs-assessment.
- Collaborate directly to Project Managers with various tasks analysis, truck budget vs. actuals, project timeline, weekly status memos, etc.
- Client Management
- Understanding client expectations as discussed and quantified in the client engagement meeting.
- Providing high quality deliverables on a timely basis and in compliance with Kiwi’s Quality Management System.
- Following Kiwi Partners Communications Policy, communicate proactively with Manager and/or client to establish strong trust and prevent potential conflicts/problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree Preferred, or equivalent level of experience
- 5 years of experience without an Associate's degree
- 7 years of experience without a Bachelor's degree with 4 years of this experience
- 4+ years of relevant professional experience to include:
- At least 2 years of progressive accounting and/or consulting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs, particularly: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Power Pivot, SharePoint and Teams
PREDERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Prior experience in a small non-for-profits, startup, or unstructured environment.
- Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Business Central, Ramp, Bill.com, Expensify Accounting, or Implementation certification.
- 1 – 2 years of Sage Intacct Implementation Specialist experience

COMPENSATION
This is a full-time exempt position. We offer a competitive and holistic total rewards package that includes salary, bonus, and benefits.
The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $135,000 and this position has an annual bonus potential of 10%.
We consider national benchmark indicators along with job related skills, experience and relevant education and training, to determine compensation that is fair and competitive.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
This position can be hybrid in New York, or Remote from the following states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Virginia, if outside a commuting distance to an office.
The Financial Engineer may work remotely or primarily from a Vital Impact office; to be determined individually during the offer process. While performing regular duties, the employee may be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, or kneel, and to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
